He was in Hyderabad when he died and his death was due to the prolonged illness and other health complications. Dasari Narayana Rao was born on 4th May 1942 in Palakollu, Andhra Pradesh. He was the amongst the best directors in the Indian Cinema. Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and other actors shared the messages of condolences on twitter. Dasari has visited hospital several times in this year because of lung and kidney infections. His name is also written in the Guinness Book of world record for directing 125 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. With the death of Dasari Rao, the Indian Cinema has lost a gem of a person.
Dasari Narayana Rao has directed several award winning films. He won the national award for his film Kante Kuthurne Kanu, and Meghasandesam. He has also received many filmfare awards for his films. Dasari Narayana Rao has also received the CineMAA awards for his contribution in the Films. Dasari Narayana Rao became the member of the Rajya Sabha in the year 2006 and became the minister of state in Ministry of Coal. He was also involved in the coalgate scam and the CBI filed FIR against him for taking Rs. 2.25 Crores from Naveen Jindal in the connection of the scam. Dasari Narayana had also launched the popular newspaper Udayam, which was a counter to Ramoji’s newspaper Eenadu.
