Michael John Avenatti was born on 16 February 1971 in Sacramento, California and he spent his childhood in Colorado and Utah. Later, in 1982, Michael moved with his family to Chesterfield, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Here, Michael attended Parkway Central High School.

In 1996, Michael Avenatti graduated the University of Pennsylvania with B.A. in political science and in 2000 he graduated first in class with a Juris Doctor the George Washington University Law School. Starting with 2003, George Washington University Law School initiated the Michael J. Avenatti Award for Excellence in Pre-Trial and Trial Advocacy – which is an annual award for the graduates Juris Doctor. In 2010, Michael Avenatti received the George Washington University’s prestigious Alumni Recognition Award.
During college and law school, Michael Avenatti worked at the “Research Group” and in more than 150 Democratic and Republican campaigns in 42 states.
After Michael finished and graduated the law university, he worked at “O’Melveny & Myers” in Los Angeles, California. “O’Melveny & Myers” is a law firm that has been founded in 1885 and currently has around 740 lawyers and several offices opened (California, Washington, D.C., New York City, Beijing, Brussels, Hong Kong, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo). At “O’Melveny & Myers”, Michael had the opportunity to work with Daniel M. Petrocelli, who became known in 1997 by representing the Ron Goldman family against O.J. Simpson. They worked together for numerous legal cases, including the representation of singer Christina Aguilera, the litigation surrounding the movie “K-19: The Widow maker”, or for the representation of the musical group “The Eagles”.
During his career, Michael Avenatti had prominent law cases including celebrities, high-ranking business executives, Fortune 100 companies or cases against National Football League.
Once, Michael finished his working experience with “O’Melveny & Myers”, he joined the law boutique firm “Greene Broillet & Wheeler” from Los Angeles. Here, Michael, has handled high-profile cases such as $10 million defamation case against Paris Hilton or $40 million embezzlement lawsuit involving KPMG.
In 2007, Michael founded a law firm named “Eagan Avenatti, LLP”, known initially as “Eagan O’Malley & Avenatti, LLP”. The firm had offices in Newport Beach, Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. In 2013, Michael founded the company “Global Baristas” and since 2015 the company represented more than 50 cases for breach of contract, unpaid bills, and unpaid taxes in states and federal courts.
Currently, Michael Avenatti is representing the adult-film Actress Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Donald Trump. Michael Avenatti, in March 2018, filled a lawsuit in order to invalidate a non-disclosure agreement from 2016 between her and Donald Trump. This agreement it seems has been signed in the final days of the 2016 U.S. Presidential campaign. In this lawsuit, Michael published records showing multiple large payments, some from major corporations, into the bank account Cohen, used to pay Daniels.
Several times, Michael appeared on broadcasts and in print media as a legal commentator. For Stormy Daniels case, he was a frequent guest on the talk shows, summarizing around 108 CNN and MSNBC appearances in two months. Michael was active on Twitter gaining a large popularity.
One of the passions of Michael Avenatti is the racing. He discovered the racing in the childhood at the early age of 9 when his father took him to a race “We lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and my father took me to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb — that’s the first memory I have of going to a race. I remember standing alongside the gravel road — it wasn’t paved back then — and watching the action, which was an unbelievable experience when you are 9 or 10 years old.” .
He is racing as a professional driver since 2010 and up to now, he participated in 33 professional sports car races. Some of these races are famous in the United States or Europe such as American Le Mans Series, FIA World Endurance Championship, Porsche Super Cup or United Sports Car Championship and they have included 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, 2012 Petit Le Mans and the Long Beach Grand Prix.
In 2015, Michael Avenatti participated at “24 Hours of Le Mans” making team with Saudi Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud and Polish driver Jakub “Kuba” Giermaziak. Their team won the seventh class position.
There were rumors of Michael Avenatti’s intention to candidate as President of the United States in 2020 Campaign. Michael denied these rumors because this step would suppose the ending of racing activity and the family’s life will change too. In December 2018, he posted on Twitter: “I do not make this decision lightly — I make it out of respect for my family”.
In the personal life, Michael Avenatti has been married twice. First time, was married with Christine Avenatti Carlin for 13 years and, since 2011 till 2017, he was married with Lisa Storie-Avenatti – their divorce being finalized in December 2017.
