In the childhood, Serena moved with his family to Compton, California. This was the place were Serena started to play tennis at the age of three. Serena started the tennis training with her sister, Venus, having their parents as official coaches. Other mentor that Serena had in Compton was, Richard Williams, a man who was sharing the same name of her father. After six years, Serena and her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in order that Serena and her sister, Venus, could attend the tennis academy of Rick Macci. Rick Macci started to additional coach William sisters and there were situations when he did not agree or share their father’s opinions but respected them. At that time, Serena was only nine years old.
At age of ten, Serena decided to go slowly with tennis in order to focus more on school. Serena’s father agreed and stopped to send her daughter at the national junior tennis tournaments.
