In the childhood, Serena moved with his family to Compton, California. This was the place were Serena started to play tennis at the age of three. Serena started the tennis training with her sister, Venus, having their parents as official coaches. After six years, Serena and her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in order that Serena and her sister, Venus, could attend the tennis academy of Rick Macci.
